Remdesivir, a drug still not available to Covid-19 patients in MNE, given to Metropolitan Amfilohije

Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral Amfilohije (Radović) who’s currently being treated in the Clinical Center of Montenegro for Covid-19, was given remdesivir, a drug still not available in Montenegro, CdM has learnt from well-informed sources.

According to them, Metropolitan Amfilohije enjoys privileges compared to other patients who still don’t have the opportunity to be given remdesivir.

The question is – how and why is remdesvir available only for the Metropolitan and not for other severe or critical cases, especially having in mind that Montenegro officially does not possess this drug.

Recall, the Government of Montenegro, on the proposal of the National Coordination Body, informed the public several days ago that it had ensured funds for the procurement of drug remdesivir. It costs €345 per vial (no VAT included) and the price is same for all countries.

Metropolitan Amfilohije has been treated at the Clinical Center since 6 October.
